Germany’s Federal Network Agency BNetzA has completed the procedure for a 380kV power line from Bertikow in Brandenburg to Pasewalk in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania that will help integrate more renewables into the grid.
BNetzA said the course of the power line and the dismantling of the existing line are thus fixed.
BNetzA president Jochen Homann (pictured) said: “The determination of the course of the power line from Bertikow to Pasewalk is a further step towards the realisation of the expansion of the transmission grid.
“The project serves to create a sustainable power grid and supports the integration of renewables into our energysystem.”
The agency said the new power line is based on the existing 220kV route north of Bertikow and south of Pasewalk.
The section in between will run west of Highway 20.
The existing line will be dismantled soon and the new line is expected to be put into operation in 2023.
