Invenergy has started commercial operations at the 31.5MW Beech Ridge energy storage project, next to the company’s 100.5MW wind farm in Rupert, West Virginia.
The project aims to provide a fast-response regulation service to the PJM market and brings the company’s total storage capacity to 64.5MW.
Invenergy senior vice president of regulatory affairs, storage and transmission Kris Zadlo said: “The start of operations for Beech Ridge further underscores our commitment to finding innovative storage solutions to meet our customers’ needs.
“We are continuing to expand our storage project portfolio as we believe this revolutionary technology plays a vital role in the future of renewable energy.”
