TenneT has completed a review of various routes for a new connection that will bring renewable energy to industrial consumers in Germany.
Application documents for the planning approval procedure are now being prepared for the network expansion for the Salzgitter industrial line.
TenneT has also made its plans for the project available to local politicians, other stakeholders and the media.
The line will supply the Salzgitter and Volkswagen production sites with renewable energy in order to meet the companies’ increased energy requirements using renewable sources.
The project is also an essential element of the network expansion in the metropolitan region of Hanover-Braunschweig-Gottingen-Wolfsburg.
From 2025, it will strengthen the 380kV extra-high voltage network in the area of the city of Salzgitter and in the district of Peine and increase the availability of renewable electricity from the region in the region.
