Markus Binder has been appointed as chief finance officer (CFO) of TenneT Germany, as part of the group’s reorganisation.
Binder (pictured) will join the Executive Board of TenneT Germany effective 1 May 2025.
Arina Freitag will step as CFO of TenneT Germany as of 30 April 2025.
As a member of the Executive Board of TenneT Holding, she will fully focus on her role as CFO of TenneT Holding while remaining closely connected with TenneT Germany.
The appointment of Binder marks another step in the organisational realignment of the TenneT Group.
Since 1 January 2025, TenneT has strengthened its national focus and is now working as two separate organisations, TenneT Netherlands and TenneT Germany, both of which are part of the group under a holding structure.
This organisational restructuring is a prerequisite for potential further investor involvement in TenneT Germany.
Manon van Beek, Chair of the Supervisory Board, said: “I am pleased that we have been able to bring Markus Binder, an experienced financial expert and long-time leader from the energy sector, to TenneT Germany.”
Tim Meyerjurgens, CEO of TenneT Germany, added: “With Markus Binder, we are strengthening our leadership team at a key position. I look forward to a successful collaboration.”
Binder said: “I sincerely thank you for the trust placed in me.
“TenneT Germany has a clear goal: As the largest transmission system operator in Germany, we have a crucial role in shaping the energy supply in the 21st century.
“I look forward to working successfully with a great team on this challenge and positioning TenneT Germany as an attractive company for the capital market.”
Binder has held senior positions at various large energy companies, including EnBW and most recently as CFO of LEAG (Lausitz Energie Bergbau AG and Lausitz Energie Kraftwerke AG).
