TenneT earnings before interest and taxes, excluding special items, was up slightly last year compared with the 2020 to €801m from €796m.
Revenue increased to almost €6.40bn in 2021, up from €4.45bn in the previous year.
The Dutch/German transmission system operator said it invested a record €4bn in the expansion and maintenance of its grids last year and will increase its output towards a minimum annual investment level of €6bn by 2025.
TenneT said it managed to maintain a high grid availability of 99.99999% overall.
TenneT chief executive Manon van Beek said: “Even as we work at speed to build and maintain our grid for a fossil-free future, demand for grid capacity in the here and now is also growing fast.
