The Acciona Infrastructure Canada-led consortium Peace River Hydro Partners (PRHP) has won a contract with BC Hydro for the main civil works component of the 1.1GW Site C clean energy project.
The main civil works contract is valued at approximately C$1.75bn and includes the construction of an earth fill dam, two diversion tunnels and a roller-compacted-concrete foundation for the generating station and spillways.
Acciona estimates the construction work will create over 8000 person years of employment over the eight-year contract. A series of job fairs and business-to-business networking sessions will be held in early 2016.
The PRHP consortium is comprised of Acciona Infrastructure Canada (37.5%), Samsung C&T Canada LTD (37.5%) and Petrowest Corp (25%).
