BEIS minister Jesse Norman has confirmed he has been handed the energy brief at the department, following the departure of previous incumbent Baroness Neville-Rolfe to the Treasury.
Norman confirmed the appointment through a message on Twitter.
The MP for Hereford and South Herefordshire previously supported Neville-Rolfe on energy policy focusing on nuclear and oil and gas.
Norman was appointed as parliamentary under secretary of state at BEIS on 18 July 2016.
