Seven oil and gas majors plan to launch a renewable energy investment fund tomorrow as part of the fight against climate change.
The companies are BP, Eni, Repsol, Saudi Aramco, Royal Dutch Shell, Statoil and Total, which together form part of the Oil and Gas Climate Initiative (OGCI).
The OGCI was set up in 2014 with the aim of leading the industry response to climate change.
The announcement will come on the same day that the Paris Agreement on climate change is set to enter into force and ahead of the Marrakech climate change conference in Morocco, which runs from 7–18 November.
