He will be responsible for developing Bureau Veritas’ renewable energy division and supporting the power sector in accelerating the UK’s energy transition.

His remit will include continued operational and customer service excellence by providing solutions that tackle immediate and future challenges around renewable energy development.

Pereira said: “I am delighted to be joining Bureau Veritas at such a pivotal time in the UK’s energy transition.

“With ambitious targets set by the government to meet a low-carbon future, its an exciting time to be working in renewable energy as the sector rapidly reinvents itself.

“Bureau Veritas has an outstanding reputation, and its long-standing ability to meet clients’ challenges head on with experience and innovation is what sets it apart.

“I feel passionate about expanding on Bureau Veritas’ existing capabilities and ensuring we are present in each stage of our clients’ renewable energy journey, offering end to end services for offshore and onshore wind, solar and energy storage.

“Bureau Veritas is a genuine partner, and I am looking forward to the next chapter in my career and building on the company’s success to date in the renewable energy market.”

Bureau Veritas head of power and utilities Graeme McLeish said: “We are delighted to welcome Mauricio to the team to drive and develop our renewable energy offering.

“As we strive towards net zero, renewable energy is a core commercial focus for us and we’re looking forward to working with Mauricio as we strive to lead the way in renewable energy certification and advisory services within the UK.”
