GCube Insurance (GCube) has strengthened its North American team with the appointment of three new associate underwriters in its New York office.
A key part of GCube’s long-term commitment to a robust insurance market for renewable energy lies in addressing the skills gap by developing the next generation of underwriting talent, the company said.
Joining the New York team as associate underwriters are Charlie Madigan, a Wake Forest University graduate with renewables experience, Dariano Moore, a St. John’s University graduate with an insurance background, and Steven Anderson, who graduated from Montclair State University, joining from Zurich.
Their appointments reflect GCube’s belief that developing specialist expertise will be fundamental to ensuring the long-term viability and sustainability of the US renewables market, the company said.
While insurer and lender appetite has been impacted by recent losses, GCube continues to invest in the sector’s future and build upon its 50% growth since acquisition by TMHCC in 2020.
Fraser McLachlan, GCube’s founder and chief executive, said: “We’re pleased to welcome Charlie, Dariano, and Steven to GCube.
“At a time when the insurability and bankability of projects is being scrutinised in the US, our investment in new talent underscores our commitment to strengthening the industry’s underwriting capabilities.
“We are in for the long haul, continuing to support our clients with expert underwriting, service and market-leading knowledge, experience and integrity.”
These appointments mark the first phase of GCube’s US expansion this year, with senior hires expected in the coming months.
