Offshore engineering consultancy Gavin & Doherty Geosolutions (GDG) has appointed Dr Ting Sie Chui as technical director.
The move forms part of the firm’s strategically planning for future development in the APAC region.
Dr Chui is currently based in Taiwan, where he is supporting clients on a combination of live projects and new opportunities.
From an initial base in Taipei, Dr Chui will be expanding GDG’s activities across a range of developing Asian markets where offshore wind is gaining traction.
GDG has worked on projects in Taiwan, Vietnam, S. Korea, Japan, China and the Philippines, where the business provides a combination of owners engineering support and specialist design studies.
Dr Chui previously worked at Atkins, one of the world’s most respected design, engineering and project management consultancies.
Most recently, he was technical director at COWI offshore wind.
A Chartered Civil Engineer, with the last 10 years in offshore wind farms foundation design, Dr Chui has also successfully completed various concept & detailed designs of offshore wind turbine and substation foundations.
