Ina Kamps has been appointed as chief operating officer at TenneT Germany, completing the line-up of the management team.
Kamps (pictured) has nearly two decades of experience in the renewable energy industry and was most recently BP’s head of offshore wind in Germany.
In her new role, she will be responsible for the operational business of TenneT Germany, focusing particularly on the expansion of networks on land and at sea, maintenance and operation of the network, and safety.
Kamps will be part of the management team alongside chief executive Tim Meyerjürgens, chief financial officer Markus Binder, and chief technology officer Kathrin Günther.
The appointment is part of the organisational restructure of the TenneT Group.
As of 1 January 2025, TenneT has transformed into two independent national transmission system operator organisations, TenneT Netherlands and TenneT Germany, which will collaborate under the umbrella of TenneT Holding as a group.
The reappointment of key leadership positions at TenneT Germany is related to this and, together with the new structure, forms the basis for the planned involvement of additional investors in TenneT Germany.
Chief executive Tim Meyerjürgens said: “The management of TenneT Germany is now complete – an important milestone. Ina Kamps brings a clear perspective on the strategic priorities of the energy transition – especially in the expansion of electricity grids on land and at sea.
“She knows offshore wind energy from long-standing practice and has international expertise in the energy sector. Her strategic implementation strength and deep industry understanding make her the ideal candidate for the core operational business of TenneT Germany.”
Commenting on her appointment, Kamps said: “Actively shaping and decisively advancing the energy system of the future is what drives me.
“A powerful, integrated, and reliable transmission network is the foundation for this and essential for a strong economic location – in Germany and Europe.
“I look forward to efficiently advancing the expansion of offshore and onshore networks together with a dedicated team, our customers, and the federal government and taking responsibility for safe network operations. Thank you for the trust placed in me.”
Kamps brings international experience from the energy sector and is also involved in the German Offshore Wind Energy Association (BWO).
