Infinis has appointed a new CEO who will succeed Shane Pickering who is stepping down and retiring.
Bruce Heppenstall (pictured), currently Plant Director at Drax Group, will step into the role to lead the company’s next phase of growth.
He will take on the role from 2 June.
Pickering has worked at Infinis since 2015, initially as Director of Operations and then, following the acquisition by 3i Infrastructure, as CEO from 2016.
Over nearly a decade, he has overseen the expansion of Infinis into a diversified renewable energy platform in the UK.
As well as expanding its core operations of capturing methane and converting it into low-carbon renewable electricity, Infinis has also diversified into solar.
“Leading Infinis has been an incredible experience, and I’m immensely proud of what we’ve achieved together,” said Pickering.
He added: “I want to thank our fantastic team for their unwavering dedication and commitment as well as to the board members and 3i Infrastructure for their invaluable contributions in making Infinis a leader in renewable energy.”
“We extend our deepest gratitude to Shane for his leadership and the lasting impact he has made at Infinis,” said Tony Cocker, Infinis Chair.
“His vision and dedication have shaped our journey, and we wish him all the best in his well-earned retirement.
“We’re excited to welcome Bruce, whose experience and leadership will take Infinis forward into a new chapter of growth and progress.”
Heppenstall said: “I’m honoured to join Infinis at such an exciting time for the renewable energy sector.
“Shane has built a strong, forward-thinking organisation, and I look forward to working with the team to continue delivering low-carbon energy solutions that make a real impact.”
