K2 triple play strengthens UK team

Global consultancy K2 Management is strengthening its UK team with three new appointments to its senior team.

Gary Bills (pictured) is joining K2 as UK country director in September, having previously been at Mott MacDonald as programme director for renewable energy.

He has 15 years’ experience in the industry, most recently as project director on wind and solar farms in Sweden, Finland, Ukraine, Serbia, the UK, South Africa and Argentina.

Steve Ikin will join the consultancy as global director of asset management in July.

He was previously director for operations and asset management at Community Windpower and has over 20 years’ experience in wind energy and asset performance.

Will Sheard is the third addition, already leading the due diligence team as global manager.

K2 Management chief executive Jorn Zielke said: “With the announcement of these three senior UK positions, we are very much looking forward to servicing our clients both locally in the UK as well as strengthening our asset management and due diligence offerings globally.

“We see a strong interest in our services and solutions from all over the world, so we are pleased to be adding to our already robust setup.”

Bills said: “I’m very optimistic about the future of the UK renewable sector – despite the challenges that it has faced in recent years, the market is starting to improve with the use of new technology and I’m looking forward to being a part of that at K2 Management.

“The focus and dedication that K2 Management has to renewable energy provides a unique selling point both for clients who we are supporting, and for employees like myself, who are joining a great team.

“I’m looking forward to getting started at K2 Management, delivering specialist advice that creates genuine value for clients’ and their projects.”
