Malin Marine has chosen Graham Penman to head the operation of its new subsidiary Malin React.
Penman will oversee the growth of Malin React, one of seven businesses belonging to Malin Marine.
The Aberdeen-based group specialises in services for rapid installation, or mobilisations, of offshore marine equipment onto vessels in the offshore renewables, oil and gas and defence sectors.
Penman’s career includes positions with Subsea 7, DOF Subsea UK and Bibby Offshore, having started his career as an apprentice welder.
Malin React will manage the delivery of turnkey mobilisation projects including vessel assessment, sea fastening design, grillage production, hot work installations, aligned with class requirements, in addition to the full equipment load out and system setting to work.
The subsidiary will contract on a fixed price with penalties, as required, tied to vessel delivery, and will take on and manage customers’ operations and commercial risks.
Penman said: “With the capacity to undertake complex projects at extremely short notice, Malin React’s expert team has extensive experience in the defence, renewables and offshore oil and gas industries – key sectors for the business’s overall strategic development.”
