McCullough joins Sonnedix board

With extensive experience managing major infrastructure projects, McCullough emphasises continuous improvement in global construction and operational practices, Sonnedix said.

McCullough has held several senior leadership positions in the UK, including interim chief executive officer at Ventient Energy (now known as Nadara following its merger with sister company Renantis), Calon Energy and UK Coal.

He was also chief operating officer at RWE npower, where he was responsible for approximately 20% of the UK’s generating assets and a six million customer base. In addition, McCullough has held senior roles in the United States, including with Innogy America LLC and American National Power.

Co-founder and executive chairman of Sonnedix Carlos Guinand said: “We are delighted to welcome Kevin to the Sonnedix board.

“A highly experienced leader in the energy sector, Kevin has demonstrated a deep commitment to operational excellence, sustainability, and safety – qualities that align with Sonnedix’s mission and values.

“His strategic vision will play a pivotal role as we continue to grow our global footprint and accelerate the energy transition, while strengthening the foundations of our business.

McCullough added: “I am excited to join the Sonnedix board and contribute to its mission to power a bright future through renewable energy. Health and safety, culture, and ESG practices are not merely checkboxes for Sonnedix but integral pillars of its already sustainable and successful businesses.

“I’m eager to champion these values and collaborate with Sonnedix in continuing to push the boundaries of what’s achievable in these areas. It’s an honour to be part of a company so clearly dedicated to embedding these principles into its core operations.”

Sonnedix currently has a total capacity of over 11GW, including a development pipeline of more than 6GW, across Chile, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Poland, Portugal, Spain, USA, and UK.
