UK energy storage company Eelpower has appointed Tom Peacock as development director.
Peacock joins the Eelpower senior management team, which includes chairman Stephen Partridge-Hicks, chief executive Mark Simon and financial chief Magdalena Markiewicz, who also joined in January.
Peacock will lead the development of the company’s pipeline of permitted storage sites and the company’s pursuit of new storage development opportunities in the UK.
He was previously property director at MRH, an independent service station owner/operator and has also held roles at property investor Canfield House, and European business consultancy Arcadis.
Simon said: “Tom’s property experience, coupled with his business management capabilities, will be hugely valuable as we look towards bringing 1GW of energy storage online by 2021/22.”
Markiewicz, who joined Eelpower earlier this month, had previously worked at Rothschild and Goldman Sachs.
Eelpower operates six-grid connected sites totalling 34MW, with a further 38MW in construction and a pipeline of 860MW.
In July 2018 Eelpower acquired the 20MW Rock Farm battery storage project in Shropshire, which secured a two-year contract in the frequency response auction.
Since July 2018, Eelpower assets have provided around 40% of the non-enhanced frequency response battery-sourced frequency response services in the UK.
