Orsted has appointed Per Mejnert Kristensen as the new president of its Asia Pacific business.
Mejnert Kristensen (pictured) will join 1 August 2022 with the task of scaling Orsted’s regional business and accelerating the green energy transformation in Asia Pacific.
He will be based in Orsted’s Taipei office, the base of its regional hub, and work closely with Orsted’s Asia-Pacific leadership team and more than 200 employees across the region.
Mejnert Kristensen has more than 20 years of relevant experience with large-scale infrastructure projects across Asia.
Before joining Orsted, Mejnert Kristensen headed FLSmidth Group’s Asia business as senior vice president based in Bangkok, Thailand.
FLSmidth is a global supplier to the cement and mining industries with an “industry-leading” sustainability programme.

“Building upon his more than 20 years of leadership experience, Per will play an instrumental role in maturing and growing our development portfolio and expanding our footprint in the region, solidifying Ørsted’s position as a trusted advisor and supplier of renewable energy solutions to governments and corporates.”

Orsted has 128MW in operation at Asia Pacific’s first commercial-scale offshore wind farm and also expects to commission the 900MW Changhua 1 & 2a Offshore Wind Farm in Taiwan this year.
The developer has a pipeline of multi-gigawatt projects under development in Taiwan, Japan, Korea, and Vietnam.
