Mainstream Renewable Power’s Una Brosnan, Equinor’s Halfdan Brustad, Orsted’s Duncan Clark and Ian Hunter of RES have been elected to RenewableUK’s 2023 12-person Board.
The four successful candidates were chosen from a 40-strong field of candidates.
Duncan Clark and Halfdan Brustad will serve for the first time on the RenewableUK Board, while Una Brosnan and Ian Hunter have been re-elected for a second three-year term.
Brosnan is SVP & Head of Offshore Ireland at Mainstream Renewable Power and Halfdan Brustad is VP for UK Renewables at Equinor. Duncan Clark leads Orsted’s UK operations, which has invested over £14bn developing offshore wind farms in Britain. Ian Hunter is Operations Director at RES, which has been developing renewable energy in the UK for over 40 years.
The election result means that the RenewableUK’s 12-person elected Board remains gender-balanced, made up of 6 women and 6 men.
RenewableUK CEO Dan McGrail welcomed the results, saying: “I’m delighted to welcome these talented industry leaders to our Board at this crucial time for RenewableUK and our members, as we rapidly scale up renewable to meet our net zero and energy security ambitions.
“While the energy sector still has much more to do to better reflect wider society, gender parity among the leaders on our Board showcases the growing diversity of leadership that we see in the renewables sector. I look forward to working with our new Board members to support rapid growth across our industry.”
