Sany’s European renewables managing director Paulo Fernando Soares has confirmed he is stepping down from his position at the turbine manufacturer.
The executive said in a statement he has decided to “amicably terminate my working relationship with Sany Renewables in Europe”, effective from today (14 November).
Soares said during his time at Sany he has “tried to change the discourse” around Chinese involvement in the European wind turbine market – from being a “perceived ‘enemy’ to the necessary enabler”.
“I truly believe this is the case. We can only get better competing against the best and benefiting from the strengths that everyone can offer,” he stated.
“In Europe, we are competing against some of the very best, and to achieve long term success, non-stop relentless determination is a must.”
