Head of Siemens Gamesa’s onshore unit Lars Krogsgaard (pictured) has left the Spanish turbine company.
Krogsgaard confirmed his departure on social media saying: “News about my departure from Siemens Gamesa is now out.
“I wish Siemens Gamesa and my former colleagues all the best for the future.”
The company said in a statement: “Siemens Gamesa’s Onshore CEO, Lars Bondo Krogsgaard, is no longer with the company.
“Siemens Gamesa’s CEO, Jochen Eickholt, will take over the interim responsibility, effective immediately, until a suitable replacement is found.
“The company has now started an executive search process for a new CEO for its onshore business.
“Over recent quarters, Siemens Gamesa’s performance has been negatively affected by volatile market dynamics as well as internal challenges, including a difficult ramp-up of the Siemens Gamesa 5.X onshore platform and higher costs driven mainly by component failures and repairs in legacy onshore platforms.”
“In response to this challenging situation, Siemens Gamesa has launched a new operating model under the Mistral strategy program designed to make the organization simpler and leaner through decisive measures.
“It will also improve organizational efficiency and effectiveness.
“Siemens Gamesa is committed to the onshore business, and is determined to turn it around and make it profitable again. Onshore volume is essential to securing the continued growth of Siemens Gamesa’s high-margin service business.”
Last month Siemens Gamesa announced it was to cut 2900 jobs across its global workforce as part of “decisive and necessary actions” to turn the company around.
