TenneT has launched a formal recruitment and selection process for a new chief executive as Manon van Beek’s (pictured) second term ends on 31 August 2026.

The supervisory board said it had started the process in good time to ensure continuity during a crucial phase of the Dutch and European energy transition, in line with the State Holdings Policy limiting appointments to two terms.

It stated that given the scale of TenneT’s societal task and its current strategic phase, a timely, transparent and careful succession process is essential.

Ab van der Touw, chair of the supervisory board, said: “Manon plays an extremely important role in this crucial phase of the Dutch and European energy transition. Her leadership is of great value for the execution of our strategic priorities and for the stability of the organisation. Continuity remains central for the Supervisory Board. We have full confidence that Manon will continue to fulfil her role with the same commitment, energy and sense of societal responsibility until the moment of handover. In the period ahead, we will focus on a careful and orderly recruitment and transition process.”

Manon van Beek, CEO of TenneT, added: “The energy transition is what drives me: contributing to a reliable, affordable and future-proof energy system is more than a role for me. I will continue to dedicate myself fully to delivering on our strategic objectives and advancing the energy transition in the Netherlands, Germany and the rest of Europe in this decisive phase and take responsibility for a solid and well-prepared handover to my successor.”

The supervisory board said it will not comment on potential candidates or the timing of the selection process until decisions have been taken.
