Vattenfall has appointed Catrin Jung as the new head of its wind division, covering offshore and onshore wind, large-scale solar and battery projects.
Jung will succeed Helene Biström, who is stepping down after a long career at the company.
She will assume the role on 1 July and join Vattenfall’s Executive Group Management Team, reporting directly to chief executive Anna Borg.
Jung joined Vattenfall in 2002 after completing engineering studies at Leipzig University of Applied Sciences.
She has held various senior roles across market development and strategy, most recently heading the company’s offshore wind business and overseeing major investments.
“I am delighted to welcome Catrin as Head of the Wind Business Unit,” said Borg.
“She brings strong leadership skills, deep industry knowledge and a clear, forward-looking vision based on a solid understanding of today’s realities.”
Jung said: “In these uncertain times, it is more important than ever to focus on our goal of achieving fossil fuel freedom.
“By working closely with our customers, suppliers and stakeholders, we can address new challenges and create meaningful solutions that shape a sustainable and competitive future energy system.”
