Conservative MP Claire Perry has been appointed a minister at BEIS following the departure of previous incumbent Nick Hurd.
The member for Devizes was previously assistant whip and a minister in the transport department.
It is expected Perry will take on Hurd’s climate brief.
Perry’s priorities are set to include delivering the oft-delayed Clean Growth Plan, which will set out how the government will achieve its carbon reduction targets.
Nick Hurd moves to the Home Office where he will be policing and fire service minister.
