RES has been awarded Contracts for Difference for Longhedge Solar Farm and Cairn Duhie Wind Farm in Allocation Round 7.
The company said the awards mark a significant milestone and reflect the maturity, quality and readiness of its pipeline.
RES added that the outcome demonstrates strong UK Government commitment to accelerating clean, home-grown power and sends a positive signal to investors about market stability.
The company stated that the ambition supports skilled jobs, strengthens energy security and advances progress toward lower consumer bills.
Lucy Whitford, managing director, UK and Ireland, said: “RES warmly welcomes today’s Contract for Difference results for onshore wind and solar, which demonstrate a strong commitment from the UK Government to accelerating clean, home-grown power.”
Whitford added: “Being awarded CfDs for Longhedge Solar Farm and Cairn Duhie Wind Farm is a significant milestone for RES and reflects the maturity, quality and readiness of our pipeline.”
Whitford stated: “This level of ambition is good for the people and communities of Great Britain.”
Whitford said: “Analysis from WindEurope shows that a renewables-based energy system could save up to €1.6 trillion by 2050, underlining that the case for renewables is economic as well as environmental.”
Whitford added: “Today’s announcement shows what can be achieved when policy ambition aligns with industry capability.”
