The EU-funded Foresea programme has awarded so-called recommendations for support to five offshore renewable energy projects under its fifth and final call.
The beneficiaries include Ifremer’s Echosonde and Wisub’s Score projects at the Sem-Rev test centre in Nantes.
The other three projects will be hosted at the European Marine Energy Centre at Orkney.
They are Green Marine’s adjustable lifting aid for recovery of moorings, Resen Waves smart buoy and Swirl Generators’s seaworthiness trial of autonomous control systems.
Foresea said the successful projects had been selected due to “their high readiness level for real sea testing within the year”.
The final confirmation of support will be granted to the developers upon contract with the relevant test centre, it added.
Foresea is an €11m project which helps to bring offshore renewable energy technologies to market by offering free access to a world-leading network of test centres.
