Marine energy developer Minesto is preparing to install the generator at its tidal power project in the Faroe Islands.
Minesto and its partner utility SEV have assembled the project’s DG100 energy kite system, which will shortly hit the water off Vestmannasund as part of a demonstration project.

“The team is doing a terrific job and we are really looking forward to the big milestone that lies ahead of us in generating electricity to the Faroese grid with our unique Deep Green technology,” said Minesto chief executive Martin Edlund.
The gravity-based foundation for the kite was installed earlier this month.
