UK subsea cable specialist ETA Connect has been awarded a £397,000 contract for upgraded dry mate connectors and a second £156,000 deal for in-line wire joints by Cornish test centre Wave Hub.
Wave Hub is installing cables into four designated development berths which make it the world’s largest advanced facility for pre-commercial testing of wave energy device arrays.
The Romsey company will supply 33kV hardware to replace existing 11kV kit.
ETA Connect’s director Andrew Thomas said: “We are very excited to be working with Wave Hub.
“The award of the contract is superb news for ETA and demonstrates that our policy providing a high quality, robust and cost effective solution is what the industry should expect and benefit from.”
