Aura Power has reached financial close for the 30MW Rayleigh solar farm in Essex, England.
Senior debt was provided by Rabobank, which has previously partnered with the developer on three other solar projects currently in construction.
Rayleigh is backed by an AR6 Contract for Difference. Aura said reaching financial close at the project brings it’s UK solar construction portfolio to 242MW.
Site preparations are scheduled to begin next month and the main construction programme will get underway in February 2026, the developer said.
The campaign will be led by its EPC and joint venture partner, ib vogt.
Aura Power general counsel Ali Timms said: “We are delighted to have reached financial close on the Rayleigh solar farm, which marks another important step in delivering our nearly 600MWp ready-to-build solar portfolio in the UK.
“Thanks to our financiers Rabobank and Investec, as well as our in-house team and partners for enabling us to realise this project.”
Rabobank associate director Paul Graafland added: “We’re delighted to back Aura Power in plugging more sunshine into the UK grid with already the fourth transaction in a row.
“With the UK charging ahead on renewables, this solar PV project is another bright step toward a cleaner, greener future – and we’re proud to help finance it.”
Burges Salmon acted as legal advisors for Aura Power in the transaction.
