Australian investment fund New Energy Solar has taken a majority interest in two SunPower Corp solar plants totalling 134.8MW in California.
SunPower developed, designed and constructed the two 67.4MW projects in Kern County and retains an ownership interest in the plants.
It will also provide ongoing operation and maintenance services to both facilities.
Construction of the projects started in mid-2015 and both are expected to achieve commercial operations this month.
Stanford University has a long-term agreement to purchase all the electricity generated and the renewable energy credits (RECs) created by the Stanford solar generating station.
Turlock Irrigation District (TID) has a similar agreement to buy the power and RECs generated by the TID solar generating station.
