German renewable energy producer Clearvise has commissioned of the 90MW Klettwitz-Nords solar park.
Klettwitz-Nord is the first of three construction phases of the Lusatia Energy Park initiated by GP Joule, Terravent and Steinbock EE.
Built under an existing wind farm on an old high tip for lignite mining in the Brandenburg municipality of Schipkau, it implements an optimised land use that is gentle for residents and wildlife, Clearvise said.
GP Joule is responsible for the planning, construction and commissioning of the solar park and will be its long-term as the operator.
In the first five months of the year, Clearvise was able to expand its operational generation capacity by 52% from 199MW to 303MW.Clearvise chief executive Petra Leue-Bahns said: “The commissioning of the first construction phase in the Lausitz Energy Park is a real milestone.
“The Klettwitz-Nord solar park is a prime example of an innovative and regionally compatible energy transition.
“However, the optimized use of space together through wind farm, solar park and, in the future, hydrogen makes financing complex.
“We are therefore all the more pleased that we were able to contribute to a rapid implementation in close cooperation with all project participants and that we were able to contribute our many years of experience as an ‘investor with a developer’s heart’.
“With our participation in the Klettwitz-Nord solar park, we are also consistently continuing our clearSCALE 2025 growth initiative.
“By 2025, our portfolio of wind and solar plants should have reached one gigawatt.”
