Dominion Energy has acquired the development rights from SunEnergy1 for the 60MW Summit Farms solar facility in Currituck County in North Carolina.
The project, which is located on about 650 acres near Moyock, is expected to enter service in December.
Summit Farms has 25-year power purchase agreements with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Boston Medical Center and Post Office Square Redevelopment Corp.
Dominion said the acquisition is part of a long-term plan to bring online at least 500MW of solar power in North Carolina and Virginia.
