Dominion Energy has acquired two 5MW solar plants and plans to buy two more totalling 10MW in North Carolina from subsidiaries of Strata Solar.
The company has bought the Fremont project in Wayne County and the Moorings 2 plant in Lenoir County.
It also expects to purchase the Clipperton and Pikeville facilities, which are under construction in Sampson County and Wayne County.
The under-construction projects are expected to be completed in the third quarter of this year, Dominion said.
Dominion vice president business development and merchant operations Keith Windle said: “With these acquisitions, Dominion Energy is well on its way to bringing into service more than 700MW of solar energy in North Carolina and Virginia by the end of 2018.”
