Enel Green Power Panama has installed the first panels at the 31 Madre Vieja solar farm in the Panamanian province of Chiriqui.
The solar park, located in the jurisdiction of Progreso in the district of Baru, covers a maximum area of 33 hectares.
The 68,580 monocrystalline modules have individual capacities of 445 (20%), 450 (60%) and 455 (20%) Watts.
Enel said 754 mounting structures have already been installed.
Madre Vieja is the second stage of a project that also includes the 13MW Jaguito and 26MW Esperanza.
The trio will deliver electricity to seven large clients in the country.
Enel Green Power Panama country manager Maximilian Winter said: “We marked an important milestone in the construction of our tenth solar park in the country, with which we continue to demonstrate our commitment to the development of sustainable energy for Panama and thus continue to promote the energy transition.
“Including Madre Vieja, Jaguito and Esperanza, Enel Green Power consolidates its growth and leadership in the local generation market.”
Enel Green Power Panama operates the 300MW Fortuna hydro plant and the 12MW Chiriqui solar farm, both in the province of Chiriqui, as well as the 42MW Sol Real solar complex, comprised of five plants distributed between the provinces of Chiriqui and Cocle.
