GE has secured a turnkey contract from Fas Energy to build a 50MW solar plant for the Egyptian Electricity Transmission Company.
The deal includes financing and equipment for the plant, which will include 4.4MW solar skids featuring GE’s LV5 1500-volt solar inverters.
GE will also procure solar modules, trackers and cables, as well as be responsible for the civil, mechanical and electrical works.
GE Power Conversion president and chief executive Azeez Mohammed said: “This is GE’s first full turnkey contract to build a solar power plant.
“By taking the integrated system approach, we help de-risk the project and enhance plants’ reliability and revenues.”
