NRG Energy and subsidiary NRG Yield have completed the 20MW NRG Solar Oasis facility in Southern California.
The project is located on approximately 180 acres of land in the western Mojave Desert, five miles northeast of Palmdale. Most of the land is leased from the US Air Force.
It consists of approximately 98,000 solar panels and electricity generated will be sold under a 20-year power purchase agreement with Southern California Edison.
Construction started in summer 2015, with approximately 250 jobs during created during the building work.
