RWE has been awarded 31 solar projects in Poland with a total capacity of 102 megawatts of direct current (MWdc).
In the latest auction for renewables, Polish regulator Urząd Regulacji Energetyki (URE) awarded RWE the 31 projects. The total capacity of 102MWdc corresponds to 84MW alternate current (MWac).
Most of the solar schemes have received permits and are scheduled to start construction in early 2025.
RWE is already building solar farms with a total capacity of more than 100MWac across Poland.
CEO of RWE Renewables Europe & Australia Katja Wünschel said: “Thirty-one solar projects awarded. This is a great success and underlines our intention to further expand the use of solar energy in Poland, where we already have 91MWac of solar capacity in operation and more than 100MWac under construction today.
“We are looking forward to delivering the next projects to further support the Polish energy transition.”
