Skytron Energy has been selected to fit out the 86.2MW Mulilo Sonnedix Prieska solar photovoltaic plant in South Africa.
The plant, which will be completed in July 2016, is located just outside Prieska, in the Northern Cape region.
Prieska is equipped with Skytron’s entire technology fleet: the Scada software PVGuard, the power plant control system skycontrol, the on-site skylog data logger system, the on-site data server skyserv, 600 ArrayGuard FH combiner boxes and several skyCONNi-Sun universal weather units.
The company said the manufacturing of the combiner boxes with integrated string current monitoring was contracted to a local partner to ensure that the system meets the local content requirements.
Skytron Energy director of business development Lino Garcia said: “In order to meet local requirements and maintain the highest possible standards at the Prieska power plant, we will both integrate the entire range of our high-quality control and supervision technology and redesign components for the site.”
