Solargik deploys 85MW of solar in Italy

Solargik deploys 85MW of solar in Italy

Solargik has signed deals to supply its AI-driven SOMA Pro tracker system to 85MW of new solar projects across Italy.

The contracts cover a 45MW portfolio with Revalue, a further agreement with Free Ingegneria, and a 20MW AgriPV project in southern Italy.

Solargik said the trackers will be deployed in areas previously deemed unsuitable for solar due to land constraints, steep slopes, or regulatory challenges.

The company’s terrain-adaptive technology enables deployment on sloped terrain and is compatible with agricultural use, offering what it described as “low-impact, high-yield” systems.

Solargik added that its total pipeline in Italy now amounts to several hundred megawatts.

“Italy is one of the most strategically important markets for Solargik,” said chief executive Gil Kroyzer.

“These projects showcase how our smart systems unlock solar potential in all terrains, including places others would avoid.”

Revalue co-CEO Luca Di Giacomo said: “Solargik brings a rare combination of technical depth and practical execution.”

Free Ingegneria’s 20MW portfolio includes sites with slopes of up to 40%, which Solargik addressed using short-structure trackers adapted for steep and uneven land.

Free Ingegneria chief executive Marco Giovannini said: “Solargik’s adaptive engineering gave us options where none seemed possible.”

Solargik said the Revalue projects are due to be delivered by the second half of 2025, while the Free Ingegneria sites are scheduled for completion in 2026.

The company reported that Italy added 6.8GW of new solar capacity in 2024, and that land-use constraints are increasing the need for innovative solutions.
