One Planet Developments has been granted planning permission for a 25MW solar farm near Burnham-on-Crouch, Essex.
The site (pictured) is located on 43 hectares of agricultural land north of Marsh Road. To the north-east is the 17.5MW Turncole wind farm, operated by RES.
As well as the solar farm, One Planet is proposing to install a battery energy storage system (BESS) at the site.
The project was supported by the local parish council and recommended for approval by the planning officer.
One Planet now has planning consent for 130MW of solar across three sites with a further 223MW in planning and development.
The company also has a further three consented BESS sites totalling 500MW.
In 2023, One Planet sold two battery sites worth 90MW to Pulse Clean Energy and earlier in 2025 sold an 8.6MW solar farm development site to Shawton Energy.
James Stoney of One Planet said: “It’s great to have secured yet another planning consent to add to our growing portfolio of consented sites across the UK.
“We look forward to working with investors to get the sites financed and constructed as soon as possible.”
The solar farm is expected to be connected to the grid in 2027.
