Argentine energy company Genneia has inaugurated the 54MW Villalonga wind farm in the province of Buenos Aires.
The $82.3m project features 16 Vestas turbines spread across a 727-hectare site and will generate 238,000 megawatt-hours of electricity a year.
Villalonga was completed five months ahead of schedule and employed about 200 people during construction, the company said.
Towers for the project were manufactured in Argentina by GRI Calvino, Genneia added.
The company already operates the 70MW Madryn, 100MW Rawson, 51MW Trewlew and 28.5MW Chubut Norte wind farms and 92MW of solar energy.
Genneia is also developing the 150MW Madryn 2, 100MW Pomona 1 and 38MW Necochea wind farms, as well as the Chubut Norte 2, 3 and 4 projects with a total capacity of over 165MW.
