Solar Ireland has expanded its collaboration with the Solar Stewardship Initiative (SSI) after signing a Memorandum of Understanding at an event in Brussels.
The industry body said it has worked with SSI since its inception to shape credible and transparent sustainability tools for the European solar sector.
Solar Ireland added that the renewed partnership supports Ireland’s 2030 renewable energy goals while ensuring responsible growth across supply chains.
The agreement strengthens alignment with European standards through work already underway in Ireland on traceability, responsible sourcing and due diligence.
Ronan Power (pictured), chief executive of Solar Ireland, said: “Ireland’s solar industry is already taking meaningful steps to strengthen responsible supply chains.”
He added: “This enhanced partnership allows us to take that work further, giving our members access to European standards, tools and training so we can continue to grow at pace while maintaining transparency, integrity and public trust.”
Solar Ireland said the collaboration will focus on sharing guidance and training, supporting coherent due-diligence approaches and promoting responsible sourcing.
