The Scottish Green Energy Awards has announced the shortlist for the UK’s largest renewable energy celebration, with more than 1,650 guests expected to attend the ceremony in Edinburgh on 4 December.
Organised by industry body Scottish Renewables, the annual event will recognise outstanding achievements across the clean energy sector, highlighting innovation, community benefit, and excellence in project delivery.
This year’s finalists include wind, solar, and low-carbon heat projects as well as community-led initiatives and individuals nominated by their peers.
Among the nominees are BW Ideol for its Damping Pool floating foundation technology, Attix CIC for its subsidy-free community wind turbine in Kilbirnie, and Renewable Parts with the University of Strathclyde’s Advanced Materials Research Laboratory for their circular economy project in wind turbine decommissioning.
The awards, headline sponsored by EDF power solutions UK and Ireland, feature 14 categories with more than 50 individuals, companies, and projects shortlisted.
Claire Mack, chief executive of Scottish Renewables, said the calibre of entries reflected the innovation and commitment driving Scotland’s energy transition.
“I have been thoroughly impressed by the exceptional nominations submitted for this year’s awards,” she said. “Selecting a shortlist from such a strong field required careful deliberation, but those chosen represent the highest standards in our industry.”
Matthieu Hue, chief executive of EDF power solutions UK and Ireland, said the company was proud to support an event that continues to showcase excellence across the renewables sector.
“The Scottish Green Energy Awards is one of the most anticipated events on the renewable energy calendar,” he said. “We look forward to celebrating the many achievements and milestones of the past year.”
