Nordex has received the IECRE type certificate for its N175/6X turbine from TUV SUD three months ahead of schedule.
The certification confirms that theoretical designs match measured values in the field, including performance, mechanical loads and rotor blade lifespan.
“The type certificate is a key proof of the technical conformity of our turbine,” said Janina Springborn, senior project manager certification at Nordex.
“It confirms that the N175/6.X meets all safety-related and performance requirements according to international standards – based on extensive testing and field measurements.”
The first N175/6.X was installed in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany, in 2024, where testing was carried out.
Type certification is considered a prerequisite for tenders and project approvals worldwide and is regarded as an important step in building developer and operator confidence.
Since launch, Nordex has secured more than 2GW of orders for projects featuring the turbine.
