Galetech Group has acquired a 50% stake in Blade Technical Services, a provider of wind turbine blade inspection and repair services.
The Cavan-headquartered renewable energy business said the move expands its fast-growing operations division, which also includes Adamas, Optigear and Optinergy.
Founded in 2014, BTS delivers blade inspection, complex structural repair, leading-edge protection and statutory inspections to wind clients across Ireland and the UK.
Koen Busschots, founder and managing director of BTS, said: “Becoming part of Galetech Group gives BTS the scale to do more and move faster, without losing the quality and responsiveness that our clients value.”
He added: “With Galetech’s support and expertise, we can deliver larger campaigns with stronger quality assurance and the same uncompromising focus on safety.”
Galetech chief executive Darren Sherry said: “Our strategy over the last number of years has been to consolidate a leading portfolio of renewable energy services businesses into our operations division, so we can provide an integrated service offering to asset owners across Ireland and the UK.”
He added: “The acquisition of a 50% stake in BTS is just the latest step in that strategic journey. BTS’s expertise in blade services and statutory inspections is an excellent complement to our existing operations.”
