SeAH Wind said it has entered into a voluntary recognition agreement with GMB Union covering collective bargaining for hourly paid manual workers at the company’s Teesworks offshore wind fabrication site.
The union has appointed four shop stewards following its election process to represent SeAH Wind’s growing workforce.
Peter Ivey, chief operations officer at SeAH Wind, said: “Following several positive meetings, we reached a decision to enter into a voluntary recognition agreement with the GMB Union.
“This decision reflects our belief that workers deserve a voice in shaping their workplace and future. By recognising the union voluntarily, we are fostering a culture of mutual respect, transparency, and shared success.”
Andrew Blunt, regional organiser for GMB, added: “Meetings with SeAH Wind have been productive, resulting in reaching agreement over recognition giving GMB members a seat at the table for bargaining on pay terms and conditions.
“This is a major milestone for workers and SeAH Wind.”
