Orsted has finished installing all 66 suction bucket jacket foundations at its 920MW Greater Changhua 2b and 4 offshore wind farms in Taiwan.
The final structure was installed this week, completing the programme ahead of schedule following first installation in April, according to the developer.
Heerema Marine Contractors was on the job.
Orsted said the project team overcame narrow weather windows and challenging sea conditions, including Typhoon Danas, which saw previously installed jackets and turbines remain stable at sea.
“Our frontline team swiftly regrouped and resumed offshore work, making the most of every suitable weather window to keep the project moving forward,” the company said on LinkedIn.
The developer described the milestone as a successful large-scale deployment of suction bucket jacket technology in Asia-Pacific, highlighting its near-silent and low-disturbance installation characteristics.
Turbine installation and cable laying are now under way, with safety and weather conditions continuing to guide operations.
