The final shipment of transition piece-less monopiles that are destined for RWE’s 1100MW Thor offshore wind project have departed from Dajin Heavy Industry’s Penglai facility in China.
Each of the 10 Monopiles weighs over 1100 tons and is bound to be delivered to the port of Eemshaven, in the Netherlands, from Penglai facility in Yantai city, Shandong province.
With their arrival, Dajin will have completed its contract to deliver 36 transition piece-less monopiles for the Thor project, off Denmark.
At the end of October 2024, RWE secured a permit from the Danish Energy Agency (Energistyrelsen) allowing it to carry out offshore construction activity for Thor project.
The delivery of the monopiles is in time for offshore installation work commencing in the next few months.
