Tim Meyerjürgens has been appointed CEO of the newly-created TenneT Germany. The appointment will take effect on January 1, 2025.
From this point on, TenneT says it will strengthen its national focus. It will work in two national organisations in the Netherlands and Germany, which are grouped together under one holding company.
This organisational adjustment is a prerequisite for future growth and possible private investments in TenneT Germany over time. This will be examined by TenneT Holding and the Dutch state as sole shareholder.
CEO of TenneT Holding B.V. Manon van Beek said: “Tim Meyerjürgens is an important pioneer and has played a key role in successful innovations and grid expansion in Germany.
“He is a leader with an exceptional track record. In addition, he also stands for the continuation of cooperation in our two markets. This will continue to be a key success factor for TenneT in the future.”
Meyerjürgens said: “I am honoured and grateful for the opportunity to lead my great colleagues at TenneT Germany into the next phase of our unique journey.
“As the largest grid operator in Germany in the heart of Europe, we bear a special responsibility. Our team is motivated, our goals are clear. As is our vision: to provide and operate a reliable and efficient power grid for an affordable energy system.”
Meyerjürgens is currently chief operating officer on the Board of TenneT Holding B.V. and has almost 30 years of experience in the energy sector.
He is responsible for TenneT’s onshore and offshore business in the Netherlands and Germany as well as for all of the group’s international interconnector projects.
