Green Switch Capital is conducting wind and noise assessments with ZX Measurement Services over a period of 12 months at the proposed 24MW Monashee wind farm located between Grantshouse and Duns, Scotland.
The four-turbine site covers an area of approximately 155 hectares and the recent deployment of a ground-based, low-profile, ZX 300 wind Lidar and associated noise monitoring equipment allows for the first studies to be conducted at the site.
Wind speeds are assessed from ground based to the target turbine heights without the need to install a traditional meteorological mast.
Green Switch Capital’s head of Scottish development Pete McLaren said: “Working with Scottish-based ZX Measurement Services, we have managed to quickly and easily install the necessary equipment that will help to confirm the feasibility of Monashee Wind Farm for the landowner, and Green Switch Capital, now part of Qair.
“Based on the outcome of studies such as this, we can continue our work with farmers and landowners to unlock the lease value of their land, giving them a predictable, guaranteed income for the entire lifecycle of the project.”
